About Us

The Pre-School is open to children from 2 years old to statutory school age and we are open during term time only as follows:

Hedgehog Room (temporarily closed)

– for children from 2 years to 3 years old

• Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 9am to 12pm

Squirrel Room – for children from 3 years to statutory school age (link to registration form

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 9am to 3pm

If you would like to visit us please contact Kate at admin@dhcps.co.uk or on 07456 332 238 to arrange a visit. We ask all visitors to arrive after 9:45am to allow the children to settle in.

We have a team of 11 staff led by our Pre-School Manager Karen Linzell and assisted by Debbie Jacobs.

Our staff continue with their professional development and we thank them and congratulate them on the courses they have completed and qualifications they have achieved. The team work hard to implement and share their knowledge and ideas.

The team are as follows:

• Karen Linzell – Manager. Level 3 qualified, SENCO and Transition to School Manager
• Debbie Jacobs – Deputy Manager, Level 3 qualified and Safeguarding Manager
• Carol Andrews – Level 3 qualified and Health and Safety Officer
• Jaime Sharland – Level 2 qualified and Enco
• Kate Newton – Level 2 Qualified
• Sally Neal – Level 3 (Safeguarding Assistant)
• Nicola Dade – Working towards Level 3 (SEND Assistant)
• Karen Higgs – Level 3 qualified (SEND Assistant)
• Remziye Ozpembe – Pre-School Assistant
• Claire Barton – Level 3 qualified (2 year old Development Manager)
• Olivia Eaton – Lunchtime Assistant

All staff have both First Aid & Food Hygiene Certificates and are CRB or DBS checked.

We operate a key-person system which gives each member of staff particular responsibility for a small group of children. Each child in the group forms attachment with their key persons and other members of staff. This ensures they are well settled in the Pre-School.
